The core idea of the KL-series is to remove the traditional barrier between the intuitiveness of manual milling and the efficiency of CNC technology. Teachability and Controllability at the Core

The KL-series’ most significant competitive advantage is its advanced “Teach-In” or teachability. Unlike traditional CNC milling machines that often require complex G-code management and separate programming before the first cut, the KL-series allows machining to begin immediately. Control systems such as the Fagor 8058elite or Siemens 828D are equipped with graphical machining cycles that guide the user step-by-step.

The user can “teach” the machine the desired shape by manually running the first workpiece using electronic handwheels. The control system stores the movements and automatically converts them into a program that can be repeated accurately in subsequent parts. This makes the machine the ideal tool for professionals who want to combine decades of machining experience with modern automation. Using the handwheels feels natural, but the underlying digital precision ensures that tolerances remain within micrometer accuracy.

Mechanics Designed for Heavy Use

Although the KL-series’ user interface is sophisticated, its mechanical structure is designed to withstand heavy industrial use. The machine’s frame is made of high-quality cast iron, which ensures excellent vibration damping and thermal stability. Extra-wide and induction-hardened spindles (HRC 50) ensure long-term accuracy and allow for large cutting depths even with challenging materials.

The product range (KL-1800, KL-2100 and KL-2400) offers scalability across different size classes. For example, the KL-2400 model offers a spindle diameter of up to 630 mm, which makes it a powerful machine for large parts. All models are standardly equipped with a three-stage automatic gearbox, which optimizes torque at low speeds and ensures high surface quality at high speeds.

Flexibility and Future Equipment

The Baronmax KL-series is not just a milling machine, but it can be customized into a full-fledged multi-machine. Optional accessories such as 8-axis revolvers, hydraulic rams and above all, C-axis with rotating tools, transform the machine into a device that can perform drilling, milling and tapping with a single setting. This reduces the cycle time of the parts and improves quality, as the part does not need to be moved from one machine to another.

Safety is taken to the highest level in the KL-series. The fully enclosed protective hood keeps chips and coolant inside the machine, but large sliding doors provide unobstructed access to the machining area during setup. Electronic monitoring and CE-standard compliant emergency stop functions make working safe for both experienced master craftsmen and trainee apprentices.
