Electric Tapered Milling Machine

The Huvema series of electric tapered milling machines are designed for industrial sheet metal working, with the aim of achieving high repeatability and minimizing tool wear. The range covers two main performance classes: the versatile M3–M16 model and the more robust M6–M30 option, designed for tasks requiring higher torque.

The M3–M16 base model is equipped with a 0.6 kW servo motor, with a stepless speed range extending to 312 rpm. The machine’s articulated quill offers a working radius of 1000 mm, and it can be connected to a standard 230 volt electric network. Control is via a touchscreen control panel, allowing the user to set the taper depth, rotational speed, and torque limit. Programmable overload protection and DIN-standard compliant chucks with switches protect the threaded shanks from breakage.

The more demanding M6–M30 model offers significantly greater capacity with a 1.2 kW motor. Thanks to the robust power transmission and reinforced quill structure, the machine is suitable for high torque required by large threaded shanks. In both models, the taper head can be rotated 90 degrees, allowing both vertical and horizontal tapering without changing the workpiece position.

The automatic taper mode completes the thread and switches direction after reaching the set depth. A balanced gas spring system maintains balance between the motor and the quill, making control light and the taper accurately enters the pre-drilled hole without side forces. These electric systems are more energy-efficient and quieter than traditional pneumatic tapered milling machines and offer more precise digital adjustability for various materials, such as steel, aluminum and stainless steel. The machines are supplied as complete packages including the tapered quill, electric motor, control unit and appropriate chuck sets.
