Aberlink Extol CNC CMM
Aberlink Extol represents the latest generation of coordinate measuring machines designed for production environments. Its exceptional innovativeness has been recognized internationally, and the device has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2024. This award is the highest possible recognition for a British company, and it was awarded specifically for Extol’s revolutionary Delta structure and technical advancement.
Designed for the Heart of the Production Line
Unlike traditional bridge-type machines, Extol utilizes a compact Delta mechanism optimized for operation directly in the machining environment, as part of a cell, or as a dedicated inspection station. Its structure is immune to contaminants thanks to fully sealed linear bearings. The device’s five integrated temperature sensors continuously monitor both the machine and its environment, enabling precise measurement results in uncontrolled conditions by compensating results to a standard temperature of 20 °C.
Efficiency and Integration
Extol is designed for continuous, round-the-clock operation. Swiss DC motors and belt drive systems ensure smooth movement without backlash, allowing for the use of even long measuring tips without vibration-induced misalignments. Automation features, such as automatic tool changer and pre-defined interfaces, make it an ideal solution for fully automated manufacturing processes.

Automation
Aberlink 3D software’s automatic tool offset correction complements the Extol measuring machine’s features perfectly. This allows the machine to be utilized as part of a fully automated production process directly at the core of the manufacturing environment.
Superior Design
Ergonomics has been a key factor in the design of the Extol measurement machine. The device is designed not only for fast and easy inspection of individual parts, but also to provide unobstructed access to batch measurements or integration of an automatic loading system. Due to the larger measurement volume and a smaller carbon footprint than its predecessor, the Xtreme, the Extol can be precisely located where measurement needs are greatest.
Scanning
Extol is now available with the SP25M scanning module, which increases the speed of inspection of complex parts and further enhances the functionality of this coordinate measuring machine designed for the most robust machine shop use to date. Intelligent implementation and low-profile mounting enable effortless switching between scanning and touch measurement, offering more freedom for measurements performed in the production environment.
