Horizon is not only exceptionally accurate, but its technical implementation minimizes mechanical wear and maximizes repeatability, making it an ideal solution for critical quality assurance.
Innovative Linear Motor Technology
The core of Horizon’s performance is a linear inductive motor system. Unlike traditional power transmission solutions, Horizon has no mechanical contact or linkage between the axes. This “direct drive” eliminates hysteresis errors, backlash, and heat caused by friction, significantly improving the machine’s dynamic accuracy. Because there are no moving parts such as belts or screws, the machine’s metrological characteristics remain unchanged throughout its lifespan.
Extreme Accuracy and Stability
Horizon utilizes a fully balanced gantry structure and top-of-the-line air pneumatic suspension on all axes. This ensures smooth, vibration-free movement, which is critical when using sensitive scanning sensors. The device’s volumetric accuracy is class-leading (1,5 μm + L/250 mm), and it is optimized specifically for rapid 3D scanning, which requires high point density and extreme form measurement accuracy.
