Laser Protection Solutions for Hand-Held Laser Applications

Laser shielding systems provide the necessary protection for both the operator and the machine in all situations.
Laser shielding offers passive and active solutions. Passive laser shielding typically enables short-term protection against laser radiation. Passive laser shielding solutions were sufficient for hand-held laser cutting machines.

However, the laser power available in recent years has increased so much that passive laser shielding solutions are approaching their limits.

JUTEC GmbH specializes in laser shielding and offers the first unique and high-quality active and passive laser shielding solutions – tested for high-power applications up to 12 kW laser power.

Passive Laser Shielding

The passive protective fabric is multi-layered and protects during hand-held, low-power laser welding and cleaning.

The inner surface of the fabric is pearl white and withstands the necessary laser radiation on hand-held laser cutting machines. The strong reflections of the laser are visible as color fringes in the pearl white surface.

Active Laser Shielding

The textile, multi-layered laser shielding structure ML-20 contains a sensor layer. This sensor position is connected to your laser system’s safety circuit using electronics. If the system fails and the laser beam is directed at the protective device, it will shut off the laser.

Mobile Rotating Arm Laser Shield “LaserSafe”

Laser shielding systems do not always need to be permanently installed – suitable for both temporary and permanent work area demarcation is the “LaserSafe” protective solution with an aluminum profile, mobile rotating arm frame. It is equipped with active or passive laser shielding textiles and offers the best mobility and safety when using lasers. It is particularly suitable for portable laser cutting systems and for use with hand-held lasers for cleaning.

For even greater flexibility in use, we offer you the “LaserSafe Advanced” rotating arm frame.
The frame consists of only six parts that can be quickly and easily assembled and installed without tools using clamps.
“LaserSafe Advanced” is particularly suitable for repetitive installations – for example, at customer factories.

Portable laser safety booth

The purpose is to restrict the laser area and protect surrounding workers. Portable (handheld) laser devices are now so flexible that they can be used almost anywhere in a production environment. Due to the size of the laser device, the laser gets close to the workpiece, not the other way around. Now is the time to offer laser shielding that is as mobile and flexible as the laser source.

Portable laser safety booth – available as active or passive – helps to restrict the laser area safely, so that laser working does not restrict surrounding workers. The modular structure of the booth allows for ceiling modules to be added as an accessory to protect the laser area from all sides. This is particularly important in high, spacious halls where all entrances (e.g. galleries) cannot be locked.
