The Project X measuring device is different. It uses entirely new patented technology as XY sensors, technology that not only records X and Y positioning, but also any rotational movement in the camera system. In addition, this is an absolute encoder system: as soon as the power is turned on, the measuring device knows its position – there is no need to drive to reference. The camera is free to glide over the measuring area on air bearings, so mechanics do not limit accuracy. Components can be placed on the glass table and they stay in place while the camera moves above to take measurements. There is no need to fix the part to the table as in a part-moving device. When you combine this simple mechanical structure, made possible by revolutionary measuring-sensor technology, with Aberlink’s measuring software, you will quickly understand why Project X sets a new industry standard for 2-dimensional measurement.
