AEGIS slant-bed lathe (CNC turning centre) is made for turning and milling complex parts accurately This series of lathe (turning centre) is equipped with a 12-station live-tool turret combined with C-axis function (M model), allowing turning, milling on the axis from the side and on the face. The MY model also includes Y-axis movement, providing access to side and end face milling.
- The spindle is driven on different models by high-torque motors making the lathes suitable for various machining requirements.
- The frame is made from a single Meehanite casting and is stress-relieved for a change-free structure.
- The massive frame and bed construction is rigid and vibration-damping.
- Oversized box ways – (B model) box ways combined with a large distance between them dramatically increase rigidity and stability. The new dimensions of the ways increase rigidity by 30% compared to previous models.
- Japanese Tsubaki Linear Guides – (L model) The motion has low friction and high accuracy. The L model is mainly used for processing high-precision parts.
MY models, i.e. those with C and Y axes, start from size FTC-15MY. Perhaps the most popular size is the FTC-23 BMY, with a turning diameter on the saddle of 360 mm and 509/808/1104 mm between centres alternatively. Speeds reach 4200 rpm and rapid traverses are 20 m/min as box ways (FTC-23 BMY) and 24 m/min with linear bearings, Y-axis is +/- 50 mm. A suitable bar feeder for a max 52 mm bar (62 mm bore) – FTC-23BMY is a very competitively priced lathe and is on special offer.
FTC-23 with parts conveyor
Next in size, with a larger bore and spindle motor, is the FTC-26BMY. The largest model is FTC-30BMY or FTC-30 LMY
